Sonja's Angels is a referral agency only. We do not employ the nanny. You will become the Employer.
At Sonja's Angels all of the nannies that are referred through our agency must work or study in the childcare field. They must have references to verify this and these references are thoroughly checked. All of our nannies have a face-to-face interview, they are checked through The Commission of Children and Young people and have their Criminal History checked through the Police.
We only refer excellent nannies to our clients, so that our clients can make the final decision on their nanny.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
It is essential that you provide a safe working environment for the nanny to work in and that your home adheres to all occupational health and safety requirements.
CAR ALLOWANCE
If a car is provided for the use of the nanny, it is the employer's responsibility to provide full insurance coverage. If the nanny is to use her own vehicle as a condition of employment, an allowance of approximately $0.55 per kilometer for petrol and running costs applies over and above the agreed wage. Please note that the type of vehicle the nanny drives determines the exact kilometer rate. These rates are available from the NRMA and the Australian taxation office.
DOMESTIC WORKERS INSURANCE
It is essential that you have workers compensation insurance. This is very easy to obtain as it can be linked to your home contents or building insurance. If you do not have home insurance, domestic workers insurance is available from GIO for approximately $50 per year. It is essential that you provide a safe working environment and that you adhere to work cover occupational health and safety requirement.
NANNY INSURANCE
We advise that your nanny take out Nanny Insurance. Nanny insurance is a public liability insurance to protect you should your nanny have an accident with your child/children. It covers medical procedures and special care that is not covered under Medicare or Private Health
Insurance. It also covers loss of wages and compensation. We advise that you make this an essential part of your job description. We know that no amount of money will ever make up for the fact if a child has an accident, however you will have peace of mind if you have no financial
worries. Please don't ignore this insurance. We recommend Nanny Sure Insurance.
As this policy is approx $200 - $300 we would recommend that you offer to pay for this prior to your position commencing and deduct an amount per week from the nannies wages until you have been reimbursed.
AGENCY FEES
Our full agency fee is applicable only if we are successful in finding you a nanny. When you offer the position to the Nanny provided by Sonja’s Angels Nanny Agency, you are required within 7 days after receiving the Invoice to pay the Nanny Agency Placement Fee via credit card unless alternative arrangements have been made.
All agency fees paid are non refundable. A three month guarantee is given to all positions. The agency fee is determined by the number of days that you employ the nanny. Should your job description change during the nannies employment then an additional agency fee would be applicable. For example if your day changes from 3 days to 4 days then an additional fee would be payable. Please note this will be the rate at the time of change not at the time of employment. Trial days incur an agency fee of $25 and this is not redeemable from placement fees.
Please don't refer your nanny to friends or family, as an additional agency fee would be applicable.
GUARANTEE PERIOD
We offer a three month guarantee on all of our placements. This is on the condition that the invoice is paid on time. If the invoice is not paid within 14 days the guarantee becomes null and void. It has been our experience that if you have a very clear job description and spend time with your nanny showing her and explaining to her what you require, then the position will be successful.
As each family has different expectations it is essential that you make your requirements very clear. We recommend that if you are not happy with your nanny after 3 weeks than you should discuss it with our agency and replace her.

GIRLS WHO ARE FOUND WORKING DIRECTLY FOR THE CLIENT WITH OUT ADVISING THE AGENCY WILL BE TERMINATED FROM THE AGENCY & THE CLIENT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE APPLICABLE PLACEMENT FEES.
