Sonja's Angels Nanny Agency offers a wide range of child care services to our clients.
Below is a description of what each service entails:
NANNIES
A nanny is a qualified, trained and experienced individual who is 21 years of age and over. They are full-time, permanent, part-time or on a nanny share basis with another family looking after both families’ children in one home. Nannies can either live-in your home or come in on a daily basis.
Nannies duties include playing, reading books, singing nursery songs, and other child related duties, learning and development, preparing nutritional meals, washing children's clothing, towels, maintaining play areas and keeping children beneficially occupied and keeping the families routine.
Nannies can take children to numbers of different activities, parks, beaches etc. Nannies are paid on an hourly rate between $20-$22 per hour. The nanny can undertake additional duties to be negotiated between the parent ,the Agency and the Nanny.
MOTHER’S HELP
This is usually undertaken by a young person who is either newly qualified or a mother who has already raised her own children. Therefore duties regarding the children will vary according to their
experience, the type of household and the ages of the children. When a younger person is the mothers’ helper a responsible adult is required to whom they can refer at all times. Mother’s help carers are paid about $18 per hour.
NANNIES HOUSE KEEPERS
It is expected that all nannies will make sure that the house is tidy and everything is completed for the children. Should you require additional cleaning or housekeeping then we provide a service to help you find a cleaner or a house manager. Nannies/ Housekeepers are paid on an hourly rate between $20-$25 per hour. The minimum call out for this domestic help is 4 hours.
AU PAIRS
Live in nannies are paid the same hourly rate as a live out nanny however you deduct between $150 and $250 per week from the gross wage to cover the cost of food and board. The accommodation provided will determine amount to be deducted. Separate accommodation is
usually preferred however the nannies room is essential. Own bathroom is the most desirable. However shared bathroom with the children is acceptable.
Live in nannies have set hours just as a live out nanny has. All of the nannies food is to be provided however you do not have to supply additional food to suit the nannies culinary tastes or dietary requirements. If the nanny requires specific food than it is her responsibility. They are not on call 24 hours per day. They have a starting and finish time.
BABYSITTERS
Sonja's Angels is a referral babysitting agency. The hourly rate of a babysitter is $16-$17 per hour at night and $19-$20 per hour during the day with an additional agency fee of $25 payable per day.
The nanny is to be paid in cash for the number of hours she works at the completion of each shift. The booking fee is to be paid to the agency with a credit card at the time of arranging the babysitter.
BEFORE / AFTER SCHOOL CARERS
After school carers are paid by the hour. The hourly rate is between $18 to $25 per hour. Depending on the hours and the household duties required by your family. Before and after school care is paid $20 per hour and works between 7am - 9am and 3pm - 7pm. However it is totally up to you to choose the hours you need..
This is often a hard position to fill. It is essential that we find someone to work for you who is looking for part time work. We don't want to start somebody in a position and then find that they are looking
for more hours than you can offer.
Before school carers asset the kids with breakfast, dressing and dropping them off. After school carers will pick the children up from school and take them to various after school activities such as
tennis, swimming, football etc. They bring the children home, give them afternoon tea and supervise homework. They can cook a basic meal for the children and have them bathed and in their pyjamas for when you return home.
REGISTERED CHILDCARE PROVIDERS
All of Sonja's Angels nannies are registered childcare workers; therefore employers are eligible to claim the rebate from the Family Assistance Office. This is not means tested and all families are
entitled between $23 for one child and up to $60 for two or more children. (Most families who employee a nanny receive approximately $40 per week)
PARTY HELP
Like Mother’s Helpers, Party Helpers are usually young people with fewer qualifications. They assist parents at children’s birthday or other parties – organising games and directing children from one activity to another.
We also provide special party helpers who have experience in face painting and theme parties such as fairies, princesses, wizards, clowns etc.
